Tom has chased Jerry through the whole garden. Tom gets thrown against the fence by Jerry and Tom finally gets exhausted because of Jerry. In the pursuit, Tom passes Spike, who immediately grabs the diving board and attaches it. Tom screams and he grabs the diving board, then he attempts to hit Jerry with it. When Tom is focused on sanding, Jerry takes Tom's tail and Tom sands down all the fur. Spike has noticed that and he gets mad at Tom again. Of course, Tom is messing around with Jerry as usual. The swimming pool has almost been finished and Tom has to grind the diving board, while Jerry fills the pool with water. Spike has almost lost patience towards Tom and his eyes show fire. Tom quickly grabs Tyke and kisses his head. Tom gets nervous and Jerry takes a large hammer, then he hits Spike with it and hands the hammer to Tom, so Jerry can avoid trouble with Spike. Spike turns to solid cement and remains immobilized. Spike suddenly looks for Tyke, thinking Tyke was in the cement and Spike jumps into the bowl to save him, but Tyke wasn't in the bowl. Tom grabs Tyke and Jerry accidentally slams the cement bag on Tom's foot. Later on, Tom and Jerry are supposed to spread the cement over the big bowl when Tyke approaches too close to the bowl. Jerry was lucky because that's when Tyke walks up and Spike hugs him. Tom quickly squeezes the spade in Jerry's hand, therefore Spike gets angry and swings at Jerry with the spade, but without realizing that Tom was standing behind Spike and Tom got the spade smacked in the face. Tom and Jerry are arguing again behind Spike's back and Tom accidentally hits Spike's head with the spade as he turns around, knocking him out for a brief moment. Then Spike takes his foot away again, Tyke yelps softly and Spike apologizes to Tom. Spike covers Tyke's eyes with his foot so Tyke couldn't see Spike smacking Tom in the face. Tom intentionally breaks the spade to avoid having to work. Spike forces Tom and Jerry to help him with building the swimming pool. Tom and Jerry continue arguing outside near Spike, constantly distracting him from work. Tom pulls the plug and the whole living room is devastated. Tom turns the wind speed to Tornado level, which causes all to be blown away with Tom and Jerry. Tom pushes the fan to Jerry and Jerry pushes it to Tom, the process goes on until Tom shakes Jerry and puts him on Jerry's beach chair. Jerry pushes the fan his way to let himself cool down, but Tom pushes it back towards him, so the usual fight erupts. Tom folds the lawn chair that Jerry is occupying, shakes the chair to make Jerry fall out, and throws it against the wall as a frisbee. Jerry teases Tom by drinking some of his drink. Jerry laughs at him and Tom asks Jerry to get off his lawn chair. Tom has pulled down really hard, ripping off his fur in the process, the he immediately puts ice cubes on his skin. Tom's fur gets stuck in the jacket's zipper. At the same time, Tom is teasing Spike again. Rick is looking for the fan, not knowing Tom snatched it. Spike didn't want to teach Tyke how to hit cats, so he holds off for now. Spike growls and starts to go over to Tom and hit him, but Tyke stands by. Spike was about to read the instructions when Tom knocks on the living room window, teasing him. Meanwhile, Tom grabs the fan and a bowl full of ice cubes and slips past Rick unnoticed. Spike has planned to build a small swimming pool for Tyke, who is feeling weak from the heat and Spike quickly sets an umbrella out for him. Ginger goes outside and the temperature rises to the point that the thermometer breaks. He opens the refrigerator door to counter the heat, but then Rick grumbles and slams the refrigerator door. It is very warm outside and Tom is sweating. When Tom and Jerry get kicked out of the house for wreaking too much havoc, Spike enlists their help. It's the hot day and Spike is building a swimming pool for his son, Tyke.
